Honduras Travel Information

The Republic of Honduras is a country in Central America. Honduras is bordered by Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua. As most Central American countries, they speak Spanish.

In Honduras, temperature is more related to altitude than season. In general, Honduras is quite hot and humid year-round. In general, Honduras is divided in 3 regions: Caribbean Honduras, Honduran Highlands, and Pacific Honduras.

The largest cities in Honduras are Tegucigalpa (capital) and San Pedro Sula. Furthermore, Copán is a well-known piece of Maya civilization with different Maya sites open to the public. As most Caribbean countries, Honduras as a couple of islands and are good places for diving and snorkelling. From the islands, Utila and Roatán are the most popular ones. 

Cusuco National park is situated close to the border with Guatemala. It’s cloud forest and his is known for it’s exceptional species richness, especially amphibians. Furthermore, there are patches of dwarf forest.
